Events on the calendar are prospective and scheduled sailings, and we have two boats, so if you have a special event or specific date that you'd like to charter and it looks like a conflict on the calendar, don't despair, please call or email for availability.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
As a general rule, if we have six or less guests going out we will take our 46' gaff-rigged Sea Witch ketch. She is a beautiful boat, very comfortable and a joy to sail on. She is, however, limited to six passengers, so any party larger than six will sail on Spike Africa, our schooner.
Even when it's warm and sunny on shore it's often much cooler out on the water, especially if there's a good sailing breeze. For your comfort we suggest that you dress in layers, if you get too warm you can always lose a layer, and be sure to bring a jacket that can shed water and act as a windbreaker. As for footwear, something that's comfortable and allows you to safely move around on deck. Don't forget sunscreen, the water really reflects the sun.
Booking and Cancellation Policy
We require a 50% deposit to hold your reservation. Any cancellation shall be submitted in writing and a 10% administrative fee will be deducted from your refund. If you cancel within 30 days of departure you forfeit your entire deposit unless we are able to re-sell your cancelled trip. If you cancel within two weeks of departure or do not show up for your trip you will forfeit the full fare for your charter unless we are able to re-sell your trip. Any money lost due to a cancellation, aside from the 10% administrative fee, can be used toward the purchase of another charter aboard one of Schooner North's vessels within two years of cancellation. Should Schooners North be required to cancel a trip for any unforeseen reason, including lack of adequate registration for that trip, you will receive a full refund of any money paid to us.
